My name is Mattanja and I am currently studying Industrial Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Wedel, close to Hamburg. After I heard of the New Kibbutz program, I applied for different internships and decided to work in the area of Global Trade Compliance at Xura in Ra'anana, north of Tel Aviv. Xura is the leading provider of software and systems for telecommunication companies. After three months of internship, I can say that I would not hesitate to do it again. The working atmosphere at Xura is excellent and I am part of a great team. The internship provided a great chance to extend my professional qualifications in a very fast and efficient way and offered valuable hands-on experience in the international field of global trade.
My expectations have been fully met, not only professionally, but also privately. I am fascinated by the Jewish culture, the varied landscape, the unique combination of tradition and modernity, and the innovative mentality of Israelis. To sum up, I would encourage anyone to go to Israel in order to get to know and witness oneself this exceptional and peace-loving country. It is totally worth it!
After my bachelor’s degree in Psychology I wanted to go abroad to gain some experience. With the help of the New Kibbutz program, I was able to do an internship in the HR department of Bayer Israel in Hod Hasharon. Bayer Israel is a great place with a lot of nice people and I enjoyed my internship very much.
In the weekends I travelled a lot with the other New Kibbutz interns and we saw many awesome places. Israel is a wonderful country with great people and an incredible landscape. I can highly recommend the Dead Sea, but also a trip to Israel’s neighbor Jordan! We also did some trips and events that were organized by the New Kibbutz program. We had a lot of fun together and it was a great experience.
Tel Aviv – The New York of Israel! A venture, enabling not only insight into Israeli high-tech industry, but also sunny beaches, crazy nightlife, international friendships, awesome trips and a good time in the most modern city of the middle east. Thus reasons finalized my decision to participate in the “New Kibbutz” program. After a short application procedure I was accepted as an intern at Cellebrite. This IT-company provides solutions for mobile retail as well as mobile forensic for private and security markets. As a research assistant I was part of one of their business projects and supported the team which developed image classification software.
The program also organized four days of social, political and cultural education. Therefore, it was a welcome challenge for me to discover more of Israel by myself.
The experiences I made were positive and met my expectations. I had a great time in Tel Aviv as a young professional and can recommend this program to everyone else.
